The Isaiah 58 National Solidarity Vigil and Fast for Arizona will knit together the work of people of faith around the country for eight weeks of constant prayer and public action, from June 1-August 1.  For a week at a time, people of faith in designated states will pray 24 hours a day, and will lead public prayer events as a witness against the harsh measures in the Arizona law.  Individuals who sign up to pray will also be signing a statement opposing SB 1070 and all other similar state legislation, and calling for federal immigration reform legislation.  The statement and signatures will then be presented to state and federal elected officials.  More information about the vigils is here.

Pennsylvania’s week is June 6th to June 12th, and countless faith institutions throughout the state are organizing different public prayer events.  If you are interested in organizing an event at your place of worship, click here.  We can then provide you with supporting materials. If you cannot organize your own event but are interested in finding an event near you, click here for the schedule of vigils.

In addition to the event, we are recruiting individuals to commit to a moment of prayer or a day of fast at some time during the week.  Our goal is to maintain a 24 hour vigil each day throughout the week.  You can participate from your home, your workplace, you faith community, whatever is comfortable for you.  We simply ask that you carve out 30 or 60 minutes to engage in prayer or other action in support of our brothers in sisters in Arizona.  Please sign up here.
